We are looking forward to our 41st season. Our thanks to all our customers, old and new for making our celebratory 40th anniversary year memorable and enjoyable, for their continued support, kind words of encouragement and appreciation.

We are again very proud to have retained our place amongst the AA's 'Inspectors' Choice Hotel' Red Star hotels, this is for the 6th successive year and for the 12th year we have received a Rosette for our meals, thanks to the continuing efforts of Andrew, Mark, Bruno and Anna, in fact all of our staff, upstairs and downstairs.

Due to many requests from local residents, we are now offering Light Lunches and Afternoon Tea to non-residents, served daily from 10:30 am until 4:30 pm in our comfortable lounges or extensive gardens. An idyllic and restfull setting in which you can enjoy excellent food and first class service.

Non-residents now also have the opportunity to sample Andrew and Mark's award winning cuisine in the evenings. Served at 6:45pm, the 5-course menu offers fresh, home cooked cuisine, skilfully prepared from local ingredients. However, booking is essential as availability is limited. We look forward to welcoming you to Clare House.

Clare House combines this feeling with modern amenities and facilities to provide a relaxing and charming haven in which you can enjoy a break.

Your hosts, the Read family, offer a feeling of 'Country House' hospitality, ensuring that all of their guests receive the very best in personal service. The food, which is acclaimed throughout the region, is only one of many reasons why guests return time and time again, meeting old friends and renewing their love of the breathtaking scenery in this idyllic corner of the lakes.
